Yes it is a comic book convention, but it is also so much more. A Whovian may not realize how many guests and activities there are for them at this weekend’s Denver Comic Con. Taking place at the Colorado Convention Center from June 15-17, Denver Comic Con is sure to be a great time to meet other fans and share the “Doctor Who” fandom with attendees.
James Marsters
Known as Spike on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, James Marsters is also part of the “Doctor Who” folklore. He portrayed Captain John Hart in “Torchwood”; a spin off series of “Doctor Who”. As a former Time Agency friend of Captain Jack Harkness, Hart’s intentions are always suspect in his multiple appearances.
Ben Templesmith
Not only has Ben Templesmith worked on such comics as “Star Wars” and “30 Days of Night”, he has also worked on the “Doctor Who” comic. In “The Whispering Gallery”, Martha and The Doctor find themselves in a place where emotion has been outlawed. Ben Templesmith will be in Artist’s Alley in spot 112.
Panels
‘Doctor Who – New Season News and Notes’ will take place on Saturday at 4:00pm in room 103. Please join fellow Whovians to discuss the new season of “Doctor Who” and support the fandom and Denver Comic Con.
‘Doctor Who Trivia Challenge’ is a great way for any Whovian to test their knowledge. This panel will take place on Sunday at 1pm in Hyatt Capitol 3.
‘Sci-Fi Speed Dating’ will take place Friday at 7pm in Hyatt Capitol 2 and on Saturday at 1pm and 7pm in room 104. While this is not “Doctor Who” specific, this would be a great place for single Whovians to meet and maybe find that special time traveler.
There are many fun things for a Whovian to do this weekend at Denver Comic Con. Please refer to the official website for information and to download the Denver Comic Con Guide.
