During a screening at Denver Comic Con on Saturday, attendees had a chance to see the new movie from Eric Hayden. “The Last Push” is a story of space exploration and survival. Written and directed by Hayden, the movie delves into one’s inner psyche and generates deep thought. Starring Khary Payton, Lance Henriksen, Brian Baumgartner and James Madio, this amazing cast delivers a realistic story of fear and space exploration.

Astronauts Michael Forest and Nathan Miller are sent into space by Moffitt Industries on a 13 year mission to explore Europa. Since life had recently been discovered on Jupiter’s moon, Walter Moffitt financed the mission to study life on the distant moon. Two years into the journey, Nathan Miller is unexpectedly killed in a freak accident and Michael Forest awakes to find that he must spend the next three years alone in a desperate journey home.

This honest portrayal of struggle and isolation takes viewers to the edge of their seat. While serious, there are many light hearted moments sprinkled throughout the film. The pace is slow in some sections, bordering on tedious, however this seems expertly planned to enable the audience to surf the wave of emotions with Michael Forest in his desperate battle to survive.
