The eagerly awaited extended trailer for series seven of “Doctor Who” was released at 6:00am Thursday in the United Kingdom. It will not officially aired on television until tonight at 8pm on BBC One. The trailer was also released on this side of the pond.  BBC America joined forces with the BBC to post the trailer online at the same moment.

While there is an air of sadness over the first five episodes of series seven due to the Pond’s announced departure, this teaser trailer is sure to excite any “Doctor Who” fan. From Daleks to Dinosaurs, it appears the Steven Moffat and the crew have left no adventure stone unturned.

Please watch the trailer prior to reading on. Spoilers are contained ahead.

The first episode “Asylum of the Daleks”, which is rumored to air on or about September 1, is highlighted in this trailer. At the beginning viewers are treated to an amazing yet terrifying site of Rory looking out the window to see numerous Dalek Saucers. The Doctor, Amy and Rory are then in a room full of countless Daleks in what appears to be a trial chamber. Throughout the video there are glimpses of this episode from Amy and The Doctor being sent via a beam of light to a planet’s surface, to The Doctor carrying Amy out in his arms explaining to Rory how the enemy was defeated.

Scenes from “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” and “A Town Called Mercy” can also be seen in the new trailer. From The Doctor happily pointing out “Dinosaurs, on a spaceship!” to a darker moment of the Doctor blaming himself for the deaths of many Daleks and the Master, invoking their memory as a self-punishment, the blockbuster yet deeper tone of the series is beginning to take shape.

The final episode of fall shows is the last episode with Amy and Rory. While it understood that their final episode will take place in New York and will involve Weeping Angels, not much else is known. The return of River Song is shown in this trailer, and Steven Moffat has warned that not everyone will make it out alive.
