As one of the most beloved companions in “Doctor Who”, Frazer Hines portrayed Jamie McCrimmon alongside Patrick Troughton. The kilt clad highlander from 1746 Scotland, he joined the Doctor for three years of amazing stories such as “The War Games”, “The Mind Robber” and “The Tomb of the Cybermen”. Besides his work in “Doctor Who”, Frazer Hines is best known as Joe Sugden in “Emmerdale Farm”. Frazer Hines will be appearing at Galaxy Fest in Colorado Springs this February.
Galaxy Fest is an annual fan convention for many difference genres. These genres include Science Fiction, Fantasy, Steampunk and Horror. Fans gather to celebrate and discuss their favorite genres and franchises is a family friendly environment. The activities begin with a Zombie Crawl on Februrary 7 and continue through February 10, 2012.
Frazer Hines lent his talent to “Doctor Who” for 113 episodes making him the longest running companion. Although 56 of his episodes were lost, Whovians consider him as one of the greatest companions. His interaction with the Second Doctor is unique. Their bond of friendship was both comical and heartwarming. His amazing portrayal of Jaime led to reoccurring guest roles in “The Five Doctors” and “The Two Doctors”. Recently he has joined Big Finish Productions in audio dramas such as the “Companion Chronicles” series.
In addition to his acting work, Frazer Hines has published two autobiographies. The first book he released was “Films, Farms and Fillies” in 1996. He followed in 2009 with “Hines Sight”. Not only in hardcover and paperback, he recently released an audio book version of “Hines Sight” which can be purchased from his official website.
