Mile High Reavers better run and hide!  Captain Mal is coming to Denver!  Fans in Denver let out one, loud, city-wide squeal when Denver Comic Con announced that everyone’s favorite geek icon will be attending this year’s event that takes place at the Colorado Convention Center, June 30th – July 2nd.  Few actors are truly as beloved as Nathan Fillion across generations and fandoms.  In fact, in their announcement, Denver Comic Con stated that he is their most requested guest.  Well, the wait is almost over! Mr. Fillion will be attending: hammer and all.

Known for a vast array of roles, Nathan Fillion has had many successful characters so far in his career.  As Richard Castle in “Castle”, he uses his wit to help the NYPD solve crimes.  In “Firefly”, he skirts the law as Captain Malcom Reynolds along with his crew of lovable, butt kicking misfits.  He even dons spandex and a cape to battle his arch nemesis As Captain Hammer in “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog”.   Famous also for his awesome cameos, everyone is waiting for his next one in the upcoming film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”, which is due out on May 5, 2017.

One of his most recent roles is Jack Moore on the web series “Con Man”.  Written and staring “Firefly” co-star Alan Tudyk, “Con Man” is a hilarious story about a man named Wray Nerely (Tudyk) who starred in a now cancelled science fiction show that has since become a cult phenomenon.  Jack Moore (Fillion) portrayed the ship’s captain on the same show, however since then has become a huge Hollywood star while Nerely is stuck touring the convention and comic book store circuit.  “Con Man” has not only become a huge success, it started out as a record breaking project as it raised more than $1 million dollars through crowd funding within 24 hours.

Make sure to purchase your Denver Comic Con tickets as early as possible as they as sure to sell out.  Not only does your purchase ensure that you are going to have an amazing time at a fun convention, but it also helps spread literacy through the Pop Culture Classroom.  Please check out both websites for more information.
